Atoris Tokyo, Japan
Atoris is a Japanese live electronic music quartet, performed by H.Takahashi, Kohei Oyamada, Kengo Shimiz and Yudai Osawa. The quartet was spontaneously formed in 2019 after sharing deep listening experiences that evoked imaginary musical sceneries. 4 peaceful jazz vignettes. Belt of Venus is aquamarine, with a slow, tidal energy as dignified as the sea. The aptly named plantwood is budding, emergent as flowers on dewy moss in the forest. Stained Glass Sauna has a smoky, mountain resonance, while the Sunken Cabin emerges slowly from dust-mote stillness to tortured but deliberating peaks. The whole thing is bursting with character.
